My friend has the above car but cant stream music from iphone to the car. It has option 644 but no idrive so can the software be updated if so how ? Thanks

Not sure about the upgrade part, but can the iPhone stream via a cable or is it done via BT?

I think you need pro Nav (609) to get that functionality - and that means an iDrive system is necessary.

I though the non Nav cars just had basic Bluetooth for phones and not the 'enhanced' as it's now called.

Have a look at bmwcoders dot com to see if there is an easy (cheap) way to enable the function on non-Nav cars without the iDrive system.

It cant stream through bluetooth and i checked the spec thru the vin decoder website so must only work via cable. You can only do software updates via idrive which this car doesnt have

Have been quoted £60 for e90 bt option and £100 for e70 to have folding door mirrors enabled to open/close with key fob.
