Just thought I'd say a quick hi since I've rudely dropped in to post on the BMWLand thread, but I'm not a total stranger since I found this site very useful indeed when doing research on buying my first E70 in 2009.
I've now had two E70's and now back without one, which is pretty upsetting.
Bought my first E70 back in 2009, as above, which was a black late-2007 3.0d SE Dynamic. Lovely car which I had for 18months before being under the thread of redundancy and sold out. I then had two E60's between then and Jan 2014 - a 535d and 550i and then had one of my favourite cars to date; a Sparkling Bronze with Oyster leather 40d SE Dynamic LCI. Absolutely loved it - the perfect family car and GT and did 14k in it over 16months before pxing it just two weeks ago for a F20 118d M Sport.
Reason for the drastic change was because I also bought a 2001 Hymer S640 Starline motorhome which basically took up all the GT capabilities of the X5 and therefore just leaving the short journeys which the X5 was less than ideal for.
Anyway, as much as I love my 1er (for very different reasons than the X5), I absolutely loved my X5 to bits and having had a combined 3+yrs of ownership of both pre and post LCI cars, I'm looking forward to being able to contribute a bit to the forum.
