LR Defender......last orders please!

Post by X5Sport » Mon May 25, 2015 9:29 pm

The rumour mill is saying that the LR Defender ceases production this year and you can only order one up until 26th June 2015 if you want it built to your own spec.  The special 'run out' versions will set you back up to £62k....well you get leather seats. :)

£62k is a lot to pay for no legroom, uncomfortable ride, poor acceleration and outdated design.....a bit like a 911 then eh? >:D

If I had to buy one I would go for the rarest best spec if residuals were being considered.

Personally and having driven a few I feel they are solid enough albeit a little agricultural & dated, (I understand many find these raw factors appealing).....but look at prices of tidy Merc G Wagon or whatever it's called.

A lot to be said for buying discontinued and desired metal though tidy defenders aren't exactly rare.......YET !

Yes i would imagine a good spec late edition will become some sort of classic and good investment.

Look at the 997 GT3 RS beetles which have shot up in value over the past couple of years (c£100k to £150k). The last of a certain breed

Ironic re the 997 GT3RS as I recall when that model was announced advising someone to buy with view to depreciation offsetting &/or investment.

.....But what would I know ;)

I thought they were going to introduce a new model which looked exactly the same as the old one, with different engines to conform to the exhausts requirements?

Yes - bit like the 911 then  :))

I ban anyone who agrees with that last statement  >:D
