Just a hello from me, I have just purchased a used 2008 E70 X5 3.0 D SE.

I have a question

How do I play music from iPhone or iPod, I have the media package, no USB port, telephone cradle (non iPhone).
I thought the music might stream over bluetooth but cannot see any option

AFAIK that Bluetooth option did not become available until the late 2009/10 models with the later multi button CIC type iDrive system.  You have the CCC type system.

Do you not have a USB port in the centre console under the phone cradle?  If you have the media package then there ought to be a place to connect a Y-cable which uses a USB connector and 3.5mm Jack, though it might be in the glovebox?

No I only have a Aux jack plug, can anyone advise what I need to attach an iPod and play via the head unit, nice to be able to see the content on the iPod when playing.

Anybody had any experience of the Dension Icon Drive? I have installed one but cannot get iPhone control or display on the CCC , I get music and charging but no iPod/iPhone control
