Re: X5 towbar fit x6?
Very doubtful and prob not type approved..
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking bollox.. O:-)

Re: X5 towbar fit x6?
why would it not be type approved? Its a genuine bmw factory fit tow bar thats on the x5 at the moment
Re: X5 towbar fit x6?
No it won't fit. Different part numbers, mounting requirements, hitch location, stress points.
Hitches are approved for a specific vehicle application so an X5 approved bar is approved for that vehicle only unless the manufacturer has sought approval across multiple vehicles. Looking at Westphalia - who make the BMW version - they also use different numbers.
There are subtle but significant differences between the two cars. Structurally the floor pan is the same, but a lot else isn't.

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
