probably right. I had an E39 back in the late 90s that had a very similar incident - a few scratches were all you could see on the outside. Cost £1200.....and that was 10+ years ago!

She goes back in a week or so to have the paint sealer and bumper protector refitted. They want the paint to harden off a bit first. Got through 1,000 miles tonight too

Came with a BMW repair certificate as well. Complete respray of the bumper and new foglight assembly, clips, mounts etc.

Well prompted that man......

Yes I went and looked over the shoulder of the parts man and as was suggested the 40d (and only the 40d) cannot as yet have the rectangular ends fitted even though the clips, clamps and rear bumper hole trims can be fitted. It may well be that the option will come along later, but for now it's the round ends only. Makes little sense to offer part of the kit, but not the key bits, but hey ho since when did 'making sense' come in the same sentence as BMW add ons
