Well where do I start my names Charlie from Glasgow Scotland
25 years of age
Previously owned a lot of bmws e46 m3 e36 m3 e39m5 n a few others
Looking to purchase a x5 wanting a powerful one was actually planning on the x5m or x6m but had a change of heart as need funds to business etc so going to settle for a 4.8is seen a few on starting from 12,500 to around 18,000 my budget is 14k to 17k I'm just here for some advice what to look out for etc what one to go for se se dynamic or m sport any advice is appreciated thanks

Hi Charlie best advise is to try a few variants as the 4.8 is a bit thirsty if you do a lot of miles , the 40d is a great engine being twin turbo , X5m triple turbo a bit rare but most are fairly higher speced . Best time to buy just after the letter change when dealers have stock to shift .
  As with most cars history is the most important with all the service stamped by a dealer , I always check tyres are the same make premium brands , which is normally an indication of how well the previous owners have looked after the car .
  Unless you go down the new car route then you get what spec you want instead of what someone else has ordered .

I'm not planning on doing much miles I have had big engine Bmw in the past I really like the sound on the 4.8 v8 hence why I was looking for one i just can't seem to find the one with the right spec at the moment
