When I last asked my Dealer they said September for the 40d even though the 30d and M50d are available alongside the 50i.  It did seem odd - unless there is an uprated M50d on the way and an uprated 40d to come too?
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Ive no real issues with them, nice bright blueish light, beam not quite as wide spread as a xenon maybe, but hey ho.

Wife still mad for her leaf!!  Im now awaiting a c220 amg line merc, with intelligent led lighting and high beam assist etc.  Will be an interesting comparison

When I was ordering my F15 it was the same story - 30d, 50d, and 50i at launch with the 40d coming later.
Current:
F15 X5 M50d
Mark 7 VW Golf GTD

LOL, yeah, bloody good salesmen eh? Now I've thought about it, it makes sense; if all three "d" models were available at the start, I guess they'd not sell nearly as many 50d models, as most people who wanted more power than the 30d would probably go for the 40d (apart from idiots like me)?

Anyway, I hardly ever get to drive it TBH, it's the wife's car for ferrying our two pre-school kids around in. I work in Aberdeen during the week, and use the Golf, which is a great wee car so it's not all bad  :).

As nice as the Golf maybe, I think I'd rather be cruiseing up and down the A90 in the 50d.

Get the LED headlamps as I bet they will be standard when it comes to BMW facelifting the car - so at least you'll be halfway to a facelift.

I'd definitely upgrade the sound system to HarmanKardon or B&O, I'd get comfort seats, heads up display, privacy glass, side steps and the big screen nav. They would certainly be the things i'd look for if I was in the market for a 2nd hand car, so my guess is that it will help the future value of your car.
