Guys n Girls...
Ive had Air Con issues a while now, where-by the AC make no difference to the temperatuire at all and the adjustments to the temp range are either FULL HOT or FREEZING ... no happy medium.
Ive also noticed that when starting the vehicle and pulling away from stand-still.... there is this plop noise that sounds like air flaps in the dash flopping about on acceleration & decelleration...
And im wondering if some thing has come unclipped and thereby allowing the air to not mix properly some how ??
Any one else has the scary plop/flop noise from behind the dash ?
Or an easy way into the dash to take a look ??

You could try taking the glovebox out. That will give you some access behind. Never heard that noise on mine. It might be something that 'little fingers' have dropped in!
Have you checked that the a/c is engaging? With the engine running and bonnet open, get someone to press the button with the snowflake on it so that the little indicator goes on/off. You should hear the a/c clutch engage/disengage on the compressor. If it does not happen then check all the fuses are OK. Fuse numbers 34 & 48 in the front fusebox.

Re: Air Con & the scary Plop Flop Noise !!
Hi Richard,
The AC Pump is definitely kicking in and loads the engine as it does so... and the fuses are ok also.
The plopping noise is from 2 separate flaps, as each can be heard to flop from position to position as the vehicle accelerates & brakes, then again on acceleration... and as the AC is totally ineffective, I'm wondering if the noise is an air mixer flap or some thing similar...
Additionally, the air temperature is totally screwed - either roasting or damned cold lol
May see if I can get a pictorial of the mechanics behind the dash to work out what it could be..
Unless you know where I can find such a thing.
Cheers & regards

Have a look at this site and select the right vehicle/engine. It looks to ve a version of the workshop manuals. Might be something that can help.....
