I've had a couple of messages of Weve33 and he suggested my wheels and £250 to him in exchange for his wheels , my tyres are Bridgestone Duelers with 6000 miles under them so very little wear , I'm thinking that my wheels and tyres must be worth a grand + what do you folks think.

I appreciate  that Weve33 tyres are quality tyres but will not have as much wear life in them in comparison with mine .

Tim

P's hope Weve33 didn't mind me posting what the offer was , just looking for advice /comments.

He is the one that wants the change because of the ride so it is what value that is to him.

If yours are in good nick I would say straight swap.

How much difference between the two would you think the ride would be , can't be a massive amount ,  has anyone tried swoping  the wheels to find out.

well as said its titled swap, id say put them for sale if people think there worth a grand, you've got to bear in mind now that for 6k you get an x5 with them wheels now and also the 20s just arn't popular with the youngsters

I don't mind at all Tim, more input the better as I don't really know the value etc.

Would be happy with straight swap, but like you said does it improve the ride quality going from 20 to 19?

I only assume it does cause the tyres on the 19 will be thicker than the 20...

I can definately say the ride quality is better on the 19" wheels and tyres than the 20",s.
I have a set of 333 style 20" wheels with NON rfts fitted that ive had on my E70 M sport 3.0sd for a good year.
I got hold of a set of 19" wheels and tyres [NON rft,s] for winter use, and can say the ride is a lot smoother.
BUT
The steering respose is a little less. As the tyre wall is softer....
I suppose its a small trade off for comfort.
Although i will be refitting my 20",s once they been refurbed and the weather warms up... :) :)

Thanks for the offer Weve33,  I've being giving the offer a lot of thought and I may live to regret this but I'm gonna decline,  the reason been is that I don't really want the ride to be any harder than it already is  , I tow a 24ft caravan  quite a lot in the summer time and it can be uncomfortable,  even considered ditching the air suspension for springs to soften it a little bit .

Cheers Tim

That's cool mate, I've decided to keep it now. I took an x5 for a test drive on 19s and they felt the same lol

My guess he has tried to use an iPhone or similar smiley which doesn't work here you have to use the ones above.
