Hi
My drivers side rear light is making a buzzing noise. This only happens when the lights are turned on. Here is a video of inside the removable section in the boot of it:

Any ideas?

Ide make sure all the connections are clean and free from corrosion to start with and see if it stops the fault.

Right I'll check connections thank you.
There is another problem (not sure if its related) but I have the bottom passenger side rear light/brake light bulb not working (this isnt the size the buzzing is coming from...)

Also my front lights, when the keys are turned on in ignition (but not all the way so that engine is running) they look like this:

a bit odd.... now when i turn the car fully on they go normal like this:

Now this car is due for its MOT next week and im assuming this will fail it, so in urgent need of help!

The ignition off front lighting config is because your nearside sidelight is out. The car switches the main beam on at lower power instead. And yes it's an MOT failure.
It looks as if both nearside sidelights are out. Check the bulbs and fuses (2, 9 & 61) in the front box - above the glovebox.
The buzzing on the offside rear could be the noise of the pulsed feed to the sidelight. Does it go if you press the brake pedal?

Re: Drivers side rear light making a buzzing noise...
You sir, are a legend!
So as for the wierd configeration on the front, its due to a bulb being out, not a nasty/expensive electrical fault, thats great news! Will check bulbs and fuses tomorrow when its not so pitch black outside
Did your little test with the brake pedal, the buzzing does indeed stop when the brake is pressed.
One other thing, not light bulb related. Will my car fail its MOT if the drivers side door wont open from the outside handle? It was frozen closed a few weeks back and I guess I was a little too heavy handed with it (thank god I can open the drivers side window with the key fob!)
I dont really wanna be taking apart my door if i dont have to until its not freezing cold outside, but if it will fail its MOT because of it, I had best dig out my screwdrivers and a scarf!

Re: Drivers side rear light making a buzzing noise...
Sorry. Section 6.2.B.1b requires both the driver's and front passenger doors be capable of being opened from both inside and outside. If there is an issue with either then it's a fail.
Richard
PS: The reason for the noise vanishing is that the brake light is fed at 12V constant whilst the pedal is pushed. On sidelight the bulb is fed with a pulsed signal so it does not glow as brightly. Never heard one 'buzz' but it was the only thing that (to me) made sense.

Re: Drivers side rear light making a buzzing noise...
Right, will pick up some bulbs when Im out tomorrow and hopefully thats that done.
Looks like im also gonna be needing that scarf and screwdrivers!
The door opens from the inside, so the actual latch isnt the problem, its the outside handle that doesnt work, so Im hoping the metal rod that connacts the handle to the mechanism as just been popped out of place and needs pushing in, and hopefully nothing is actually broken. What do you think?

Good chance it will be the handle carrier.but there is the slight chance the ball end on the cable has popped off, either way u will need to take the door card off,not a big job just make sure you have spare clips.
