So i found some docs, I have Chargemaster Homecharge Type 2 30amp unit, looks like.
So I take it I need the Type 2 to Type 1 lead, there a 16amp and 32amp version, which one would I need?
[/quote]

30A = 6.6kW so you can fast charge yours.

Don't think so as I have the 3.3k unit in the car.

Go to zap-map.com there is a seller of charging cables on there. You will need to confirm what type plug is required to fit the wall socket.  Hopefully it's a type 2.  The leaf is a type one.

Is it a two year PCP deal?

Type 2'to type 1 is the standard set up for Leaf. Although you need to purchase the cable it will be the same one for fast chargers. Go with the 32amp as it will future proof you if you do get another leaf as its expected to have the 6.6kw as standard on the next model.

None that I have ever seen in any of the motorway services or in Milton Keynes.  Do all the manufacturers use a standard plug on the car end?

It appears there are two types - called a Type 1 and Type 2.  They are different and the Type 1 is falling out of favour although that is what the Leaf comes with (you may get a T1 - T2 converter).  If I'm reading things correctly you could have a T1 and T2 connector on board depending upon what options you chose when ordering. Some charge points have a T1 or T2 cable but many don't.

At a guess you may have to buy and carry both types!

So most common currently is type 2 to type 1 also known as public charging cable that's the one you will most likely need. Yes you can get converters too

To confirm, type I is the plug on tje leaf, the type II is the plug that fits a 7kw fast charger. These are the ones that take 4-8 hours to charge depending on whether or not you have a 3.3kw or 6.6kw charger. These machines do not have a tethered cable so you have to carry one if you wish to avail of these. The 50kw Rapid Chargers will give 80% charge in 30 minutes and these do have a tethered cable so no need for carry one for these machines.
