Aux heat - circulating pump 2006 3.0d

Post by mccabema » Sun Dec 19, 2010 7:18 pm

Hi.

So, I've got error codes relating to Aux Heat/circulating pump.

I want to install the transmitter and remote but think its probably a good idea to sort this problem first.

Anyone know what part I need to look at for the circulating pump?

Also I know there is a maplin kit for the remote heating, but I plan on fitting the BMW remote and transmitter if I can and according to realoem.com, its part no.s:

64126944105 and

64126944104

There doesn't seem to be a loom or any wiring offered-but I did read somewhere that the receiver is located in the back beside the battery. Does it just plug in to a loom already there?

Any ideas?

i am also having problems with the additional water pump. i have the maplin option that i fitted about a month ago but did not work as the glow plug had failed in the heater. so i stripped out the heater and fitted a new burner and glow plug. Brill i thought when it fired up for the first time and gave me heat but not for long. now i find that the circulating pump does not work either. so a call to the dealer in the morning i guess for a new pump. i dont have a code for pump fault but it has power to it but pumps nothing. i even tried to power it from a seperate supply but nothing. this aux heating is starting to cost more than its worth me thinks. spent over £200 upto now and bet the pump will be over £100. better be good when it works

when i removed the old one i put power to it on the bench and when then flicked it with a screwdriver and it now works fine. must have just been stuck but as i has a new one fitted it anyway.
so i have a spare if you need it. was only 2 in the country according to dealer and other was also on order was it you.

HI Dave.

I swapped out the aux circulating pump and yes, it works just fine now-or sort of !

Turns out the combustion fan in the webasto is faulty so I have to see if I can get this repared/replaced

Have a few other things to take care of first so will get to it eventually.

Thanks for the offer of the pump-keep it though-you may need it again !

When you stripped it out was it a messy job?

I'm feel comfortable enough working on the unit once its out, its just taking it out that has me slightly uneasy.

Do you have to clamp off the hoses? Any tips? Is it messy? How did you drain the coolant in the unit?
