Is there any way of improving the reverse lights and camera?

Post by stu21t » Thu Jan 29, 2015 7:33 pm

As above, I have a pre lci car and the reverse lights are nearly non existent.
Are there better bulbs? Leds? Available? Which ones have you used and seen an improvement on?

Also I have a factory fitted reversing camera and again, at night it's pretty useless, is there a way of improving this too?

Cheers

I changed mine from 16w to 21w, slightly better but still lacking.

I was thinking about this too......I wonder if fitting the White LED number plate light from ebay would improve the camera at night?

Like these....

Ive fitted the brighter led number plate light units to my car.
Whilst it helps in the location of the trailer hitch [for those of you that have a tow bar], ie hooking up the trailer at night,,,it doesnt realy help in the general view,, ie longer range...

Would retrofitting a later camera type help?  The one on mine is a Day/Night camera and is pretty good.  Not perfect, but it does an adequate job.

I don't know if it is a straight swap though.

I've got the led number plate lights.
They light up the floor by the back of my car brilliantly but I dont know if they help the camera.

I think some better reverse lights will help, possibly a higher resolution camera.
Don't suppose anyone knows what camera they are so I can see if I can find a better one.
