Is there much of a difference between the iDrive systems. I am on the hunt for an E70 coming from and E53. I have noticed the iDrive is different on the 2009 and 2010 models. Is it worth the stretch to the newer system or not?
Thanks Jeff

Re: iDrive Systems
There is quite a lot of difference. The later version (CIC Type) has more functions and a bigger hard drive plus bluetooth music streaming, Internet capability (if ordered), DVD playback (no multi changer needed) and the Nav also on the hard drive. I think the screen is bigger and higher res too. More buttons in the controller.
Search for iDrive on Wikipedia......
2010 models also saw the introduction of the 8-speed auto which is a great box. 35d replaced by 40d with more power and lower VED/better economy. Engine is still a 3.0litre though - despite the numbering scheme.
