Constant Beeping

Post by rbell11 » Fri Dec 31, 2010 6:36 pm

It seems everytime I get in the X it beeps a warning at me.

I've had
check engine oil level
check coolant level - water pump needed replacing as it was leaking
check taillights
check side lights
washer fluid low (seen that lots lately)
ext temperature warning (seen that a lot recently)
self level suspension inactive - had that for a couple of months now but car sitting fine and running okay so assume its a faulty sensor (will get to specialist diagnostics in new year)
low beam lamps - latest issue but quick bulb replacement - easy to do on the 3.0i no need to drop headlight forward or bumper as suggested in some threads

Clearly a good thing that it warns you of the problems but would love a journey without a beep :driving:
Am I unlucky or is this a normal part of ownership?

Lots of these alarms seem to be triggered by the very low temps of late and constant damp, freezing weather - quite a few people have had similar issues, some seem to go away once the weather warms up and things dry out a bit.....complex electronics bring complex problems with them, annoyingly!

That's a lot of beeps so sorry to heat of your woes. Don't forget that it can beep on the hour if set that way as well as the beep when going over a certain mph, that's another two to add to the list but at least they aren't problems :-)
