Winter wheel mission

Post by Tommy » Tue Jan 13, 2015 5:16 pm

Afternoon chaps.

Bought a set of 336 rims from an X6 for the X5 and as most will know the centre bore needs machining out.

Popped into TT Tools in South woodham (5 mins away, result !) and an hour later, they were done.

Proper machine too  8)

£60 for both wheels  8)

A set of Pirelli Scorpions going on them Friday, then the 333's are going for a proper diamond cut refurb.

Thought a few might have the same dilemma with X6 wheels, so if you're Essex way, these are the chaps to see.

Pics up Friday all being well.  :)

I like these on the car, really suits it.  I've got the Scorpions on the E53 and they are very good in all winter conditions.  Had good fun in the snow followed by compacted ice that we've had in Glasgow since yesterday.  Did you stick with the OEM tyre sizes for the 20s?

I did the same and run X6 19" on the X5 for winters. I found I needed a spacer on the front, but the rears are ok.

I did, 275/315. Could only get them in Runflat variety, but sure I'll be pleased about that if I get a puncture.

Certainly pleased with the Scorpions on mine.  They are lasting far better than the Dunlops and both are RFT.
