Just for fun, so what made you / makes you want to get an X5?

The X5 cost £1350 to convert
That's sounds cheap, what conversion did you get, I always hear about BRC and Prinz but they are expensive, allegedly no stutter at full throttle - do you find it ok under all driving demands.
Thought it seemed like a good idea myself and there are some cars for sale that are already converted saving the conversion cost providing it's all working ok of course.
prices have come down considerably in last couple of years... worth also exploring 'cash only' option .

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

My father had a few BM's in his time, and to this day states the E38 728 he had as the best he's ever had.
It was a choice between a E38, E66 and E53. I wanted a V8. Borrowed a E53 3.0D and loved it, the position, handling, etc.
13 months on, and I still appreciate how amazing the car is.

Ive had an lpg x5 then sold it and bought a diesel. I found it mariginally cheaper to run than diesel but not worth worrying about, mqin issue i had was range of 240miles at best I was forever at pump.

Is lpg even worth it at min. Near me petrol is £1 and lpg is 67p, factor in 10-20% less mpg, higher maintenance costs and thats about 1,000,000,000 miles to break even

LPG at 52p buddy...

Re: Just for fun, so what made you / makes you want to get an X5?
I went from the M5 to the X5 as I just simple hadn't had one and wanted to mod something different. Even though it has cost me a fair bit even in maintenance I still do love it.
Driving position, engine, looks (still).
And the added bonus that the X5 gets more attention than any other motor I've owned/modded...Even now I still get stopped and asked if I'd like to sell it.

True the range isnt amazing but 1/2 the price takes the edge off it for me

So I gues you get yr LPG for 52p then buddy.
I got mine done by Toby at Independent autogas, he did a very nice 'Stealth' instal for me, the filler is behind the rear centre bumper pull out and the gauge is in the ash tray.
