FOR SALE: E53 PHILIPS LUMILEDS CLEAR LED REAR LIGHTS

Post by james8whippy » Wed Jan 14, 2015 9:57 am

Hi Guys,

For Sale are my E53 LED CLEAR Rear Lights. I bought these from America as they aren't stocked in the UK.

These have the upgraded genuine Philips Lumileds built in for the side lights and brake lights from factory. They are much brighter than standard LED's and also have the LED bars across similar to what the newer BMW's come with.

The remainder of the lights came with filament bulbs so I also spent a bit of money on replacing them all with SMD LED bulbs. So every bulb including the Fog lights, Reverse lights and indicators have LEDs too.

They are like new condition and only on the car for around a year.

I am looking for around £125 plus P&P

They are easy to fit but I will also help fit them for free if you aren't too far away from Essex.

Thanks
James

Hi James,

If they are a direct fit, easy DIY straight swap, plug and play (I can do the basics !) and don't throw up any errors or "flicker" (requiring resistors etc) then I will have them.

Hey Ro,

Three bolts each side from the inside if I remember and they pop out and use the existing factory connectors.

I can't remember if they threw error codes to start with but I'm pretty sure they flickered during the cold test when you first turn the ignition on just like other LED's do. Easy to fix though with BMW Scanner 1.4 I turned off the checks and it never did it again that way you don't need resistors.

Are you local to me I could always help code out the checks if you don't have a BMW scanner tool?

Thanks
James

Hi James,

I don't have a scanner and I'm near Guildford, Surrey - do not a million miles away but not round the corner :(
If they don't throw up an error code and only flicker on cold start / ignition on (i.e. don't flicker any other time) then I can live with that.

Or we could meet up somewhere so I can collect the lights and you could do the update ?

Let me know what you think.

Ro.

Hi Ro,

As you say you're not a million miles away. If you don't mind covering a tenner for petrol I can pop over at the weekend if you want and help install and bring the laptop if you want?

Let me know what you think?

Cheers
James
