cable/wire runs

hi guys
doing a few little mods like sub,reverse camera ,dvd screens in the future
my question i where isthe best easiest locations for running from the dash to the boot area normally i would run down the sills but there is not much room there as thetrims sit very flat close to the carpet, as usual all help is great

Go passenger side and follow the thick positive cable from the battery. Goes under the rear seat bench, along the sills an then behind the glove box. It's not too bad, just the b-pillar trim at the base that proves difficult...

had a little peep at havinga go at this in readiness today, just wondering do you pull the seats out??? can see where all the cables run in like a plastic housing but guess the front seats need pulling !!

No need to pull seats out. The cables will run to the centre console along the carpet join and the back of the seats have the kick panel that will come away when you remove the two screws at the bottom (difficult not to break them - replaced mine with simialr size screw/thread). Just pull upwards and towards you to get them out. Then access to wiring screens is easy - be careful with the metal behind the seats though - razor sharp!

i can see how now. tuck in up along the join of centre console and out and up behind seats, but how to get in to boot area sub woofer area ideal????

Lift the rear seat bench (won't come out all the way as the middle seatbelt stops that), look on the near-side and you will see a foam piece that looks triangular, pull it out. You'll see a thick positive red cable go through a square access hole to the boot area, use that - voila!

If you can, get a trim removal tool to get some of those pesky trim clips that wont play fair out of their holes! Makes life easier, but not essential. I bought a Sykes-Pickavnt one years ago to save broken clips.

That bit is hell, same rear seat taken up will reveal the carpet hooked to the under-side of the rear seat. Get the sill off and the carpet should fold back some amount.

The console has 2 screws either side on the rear-most part of the console. The side pieces pop off (one screew under either footwell though) and there are two each side. Get them off to get to the screws. Then in the tray under the armrest, get the inner tray out (just held by glue, ill prise out/upwards) to reveal two screws, get them out. All for what, I hear you say - to give you some lift on the centre console to be able to squeeze a coat hanger through and then the wire...
