Me too, but it was the passenger side - opened, it was abit stiff, just thought frozen and then would not shut/latch. not good as needed to go work - got it shut and now wont open or close from the inside or out.  Off to find a fix, glad work is quiet, time to trawl the net, seems to be a common issue.

A fiddly job but if I could replace mine, anyone can!

I'm missing my old X5 at the minute but I don't miss the lottery of whether or not I'd break the handle on a frosty day.

Its a lottery everytime i get in mine as to what goes wrong.  :( Going to see what my indie will charge as its going back in next week for a new engine management light apperance, that was the previous outgoings little delight.  This mornings was the door handle.  I might give it a go myself, i am not a patient person and too much fiddling might push me over the edge.  If its going to take my indie around an hour, then think i will pay them to do it.  My indie owns an X5 of a similar age, so take a guess he will have done this before.

Never had a car where so many little things have broke.
