BMW door card light projectors

Just thought I would mention that I ordered and received 2x replacement door bmw projector lights (the ones that shine on the floor),they were ordered from ebay and dont fit, they are smaller than the aperture they should fit so I am guessing that they are for the new shape and not the e53,if you are thinking about getting any then ask the question first before ordering as the drop down menu on the add said they were compatible but now reading further down they are not :-/  Really good things tho and the BMW emblem is really clear on the floor when the door is open.....looks cool without being chavvy !
Anyhow, anyone with a new shape wants a pair for a tenner pm me and Ill send them on their way

spent all morning trying to make them fit and nearly gave up until I remembered that I had some super strong self adhesive velcro so I stuck a strip to each side and voila, fully fitted and working BMW projector door card lights, will take a pic when it's dark 
p.s. they are only £15 a pair off ebay inc delivery from china.....and the projected image is much clearer than it shows on the adverts.

I bought a set of 4 door lights for my X5, and they project a pretty "BMW X5" logo on to the floor...

I had to pop a 12mm hole about 20mm up from the original light, which is disconnected and the power used to supply the new units.. 
Didn't have to even remove the door card....
Flea Bay, about £10 a pair.

There is an official BMW accessory that does the same thing for the E71 X6:

Part No. 63 31 2 289 654

I'm guessing it would fit onto the E70 X5 as well given the similarities between the two cars. It comes with 4 filters by the looks of it; Round BMW Logo, 'BMW' in black capital writing, M logo, X logo.

I haven't ever seen one in action as I personally don't like them.

***EDIT*** Sorry I just realised that this is the E53 forum. Apologies!

***EDIT AGAIN*** I have just entered the VIN of my previously owned 2006 E53 Le Mans Blue X5 into BMW ASAP and I have found that the same item is compatible with the FACELIFT E53 under the same part number 63 31 2 289 654 according to BMW ASAP from what I can see
still worth double checking with your local dealer, though!
