I think my old X5 is trying to tell me summat..

Post by X5Sport » Wed Dec 29, 2010 5:28 pm

Ever since I let my wife have my old E53 it's been nothing but trouble, and I'm getting both ears well and truly bent  :headbang:

First she takes it to South Wales and the car promptly breaks down - fuel pump relay :? According to her it's my fault for giving her a 'duff' car.

Then the Brake Lining Warning came on and this of course is my fault again. Can't do anything about it until she can get the car booked in to be done next week. I can't do it myself as my back injuries won't let me work at that angle and I don't have access to a car lift anymore.

Today the Battery gave up and guess what - yup, that's my fault too. :headbang: I've replaced it for her.

I can't even escape as my X6 is in the body shop to be repaired after I got hit by a reversing car when I had to go out and get the Xmas cake board she forgot to get earlier - but of course that wasn't her fault. She just forgot.......

 sounds familiar - well done on getting that battery changed. Did one myself earlier this week. Bit heavy aren't they! :o

Not the size of my 900aH ridiculous monster of a battery in my Audi S8 though :headbang: I have to climb into the boot and use my full weight to lift it with great difficulty.....the Audi battery box is just above the rear wheel and has about half a millimeter clearance so tight is the fit  The X is easy peasy by comparison and has a relatively puny battery !!!!! Why oh why must these beautifully engineered cars have such ridiculous battery access????

I hear ya!

I have to get into the boot myself but almost £200 to supply and fit a battery that I sourced for £83 (Bosch Silver Line 95 AH) seems worth it! I can rest afterwards with a well earned glass of water (alcohol) - don't tell her....

We needed one 'NOW! if you know what I mean, so it had to be a Halfrauds Bosch S5 series - and yes they are ..kin heavy too. Still a 5yr warranty is not to be passed up.. :D

Had a momentary brain fade (probably all the hints and ear bends) and shut the lower tailgate AFTER taking the old battery off. Electric lock innit! :headbang: :slaphead:

Ho hum, job done. Well that job at least. :(

....worse still I am not allowed the 'water' coz of my medication for my back.........life's a real beeatch at present :dizzy: :gmb:
