I have a scanner 1.4.1 for the car but its not helping me diagnose the faulty pdc  I have , ive been told a inpa module has a better chance of  getting to the bottom of this.

has any one bought one of these??

Ahhh, those things...

I bought a similar item, and discovered it is simply a USB interface...

I then bought and OBD diagnostic (similar looking) with embedded BMW software that worked well.

By far the best item I got recently, and easiest to use to diagnose faults / codes is the following device from FleaBay...
It's simple, and works... £29.

If you want to program changes to your software, then more involved kit is required, and strongly recommend you learn lots before meddling with the vehicles brain....

no I don't want to "mess" as such , I just got a pdc fault (all sensors are clicking but its still not working , and I got told that an inpa  unit could measure the  sensors and give a more accurate reading than the bmw scanner 1.4 I currently got :)

The sensors can click but still be faulty.... the sound of the click needs to be consistent..

A unit part about to/failed will often click slightly quieter than the rest, and I've even had one click VERY loudly and be failed.

I managed to get a couple from ebay recently for about £16 for a pair.

The ones in the rear bumper are easy to remove, the front ones are a real bugger, and you need long thin fingers - lots of them....

And the hand held diagnostic tool will not detect the failure or which one... you need the full-on Laptop suite for that, and the full software diagnostic package....

I've not heard of a module failing, just the individual sensors... and mine fail two at a time generally.

The PDC sensors are NOT power washer friendly......
I killed a few sensors with my power washer...

Yep Ive got one of those. Nice bit of kit. It installs inpa, DIS and a host of other stuff really easily with no messing about. I had been trying to get inpa installed on my laptop for ages until I got this.

A good buy.

What kit have you installed it on, there's seems to be a lot of negative feedback and some very happy feedback - what computer and operating system did you get it toward on?

Inpa is pretty safe to use as it is a diagnostic tool, not a coding tool. Its also easy to load - just watch for setting the USB port to COM1. Remember you will need a battery charger on the car while you fiddle around, otherwise you may end up with a flat battery, as you search all those nice INPA screens
