Just been out in the car and the windscreen wipers stopped across the window, turn off the ignition and they now work but dont stay down at the scuttle, instead they are stopped upright infront of drivers side, any clues ?

Just been out in the car and the windscreen wipers stopped across the window, turn off the ignition and they now work but dont stay down at the scuttle, instead they are stopped upright infront of drivers side, any clues ?

The nut that holds the wiper arm in place might have slackened off, so it is slipping on the splines. Not sure how you get to the nut (on other cars I have had I just pulled the cover off the nut). If it is slack you will need to let the wiper motor stop at it's usual place and then move the wiper down to it's correct resting place and then tighten the nut.
