Mistral Class Amphibious Assault Ship (Helicopter Carrier)

One brand new Mistral Class helicopter carrier, currently named "Vladivostock" but a bit of paint and stensilling can change that.

The Mistral class is a class of three amphibious assault ships, also known as a helicopter carrier, of the French Navy. Referred to as "projection and command ships" (French: bâtiments de projection et de commandement or BPC), a Mistral-class ship is capable of transporting and deploying 16 NH90 or Tiger helicopters, four landing barges, up to 70 vehicles including 13 AMX-56 Leclerc tanks, or a 40-strong Leclerc tank battalion,[3] and 450 soldiers. The ships are equipped with a 69-bed hospital, and are capable of serving as part of a NATO Response Force, or with United Nations or European Union peace-keeping forces.

Question & Answer Answered On
Q: Hi Projectmayhem666 I was wondering whether you have a buy it now price in mind, or a price that you would end the auction for? R 30-Nov-14
A: Hi rr_123 The cost to build is $1.7billion with an 18month wait time, since this one is good to go and with the Russian fines to pay $3billion would end the auction. This has the bonus of it being ready and not having to wait 18months.
Q: Hello, I was considering bidding for this item, as I already have one and would really like a pair: according The Antique Roadshow that a pair is worth more than the cost of two single items, so plan to make a killing (no pun intended). However, I notice that you list the width as 6 metres, whereas the one I already own is 32 metres wide. This leads me to conclude that you may be selling a fake. Please can you provide pictures of the vessel with a tape measure laid the width (or beam to use the nautical term) so as to verify the correct dimension. Vlad 30-Nov-14
A: Hi Vlad, Apologies for the confusion the measurements were given in regards to shallow water docking where 6 meters is infact the draught width. The width of the deck is indeed 32 meters.
Q: I'm interested in this item,I have a good berth, might have to ask the guy with the sail boat in the next berth to move up a wee bit,but does this come equipped with the helicopters and or tanks or are these being sold separately, there are are a few small countries I have my eye on at the moment, think this would be good for a bid, cheers. 29-Nov-14
A: Unfortunately all vehicles are sold separately.
Q: Will it fit in the Grand Union ? I would need to get it to Braunston. 29-Nov-14
A: This ship is 199 meters long and 6 meters wide.As long as the canal has no turns, you'll be fine.
Q: It rather looks as if there's a bit missing from the sharp end, and several holes in the side. Dies it come with a warranty that it is fit for service please ?. kind regards Александр 29-Nov-14
A: There is no sharp end as this is a helicopter carrier not an aircraft carrier. The holes are for ancors, guns and lasers and stuff. The carrier comes with 12 months warranty but I offer extended warranty on purchase subject to UN restrictions.
Q: Will this boat take the ground and dry out upright on a drying mooring? I only have a half tide berth allocated in my harbour and want to be sure she won't fall over on her side at low tide. 29-Nov-14
A: Unfortunately not, the carrier does have a harbour inside of it though. You could try putting the right amount of tanks and helicopters on either side to balance it.
Q: Hi I am very interested in this item, should I win the auction would it be ok if I pick it up between Christmas and the new year? the reason for this is that I have a trailer but I will have to extend it to accommodate your ship and as I am at sea until Christmas I wont be able to work on my trailer until my return. Also I will have to upgrade my tow vehicle as at the moment I use a VW Polo but am looking to get a Golf or I might even splash out and get a Passat it really depends on how much I get your ship for, my commanding officer who is peering over my shoulder has just called me a f@@king idiot because even a Passat wont pull this he has suggested I go for a Range Rover or maybe a Toyota Landcruiser. that's why he`s a Captain in the Royal Navy maybe one day I will be just like him. Anyway back to collecting the Ship if I turn up with my new tow vehicle (Range Rover or Land cruiser, thanks Captain) and my extended trailer will you be around to help me load it. 29-Nov-14
A: You seem like a nice guy and I wouldn't want you in trouble with your CO. I'll tell you what, should you win I'll throw in an AMX Leclerc tank. Much more pulling power than a range rover and can be stored in the tank bay on the ship when out at sea.
Q: Hi, I suspect that this comes without a trailer and I am a little concerned that mooring fees could prove prohibitive for me. Do you have any idea what these would be on the River Hamble (which is not, I hope, subject to sanctions, being temporarily within the EU). Yours, Cap'n Cled. 29-Nov-14
A: The Vladivostock can travel anywhere within NATO territory without rescriction. Mooring fees? With a tank battallion on board who is charging mooring fees?
Q: Hi does she come in any other colour also will she run on red diesel as I would like to run fishing party's of her :) 29-Nov-14
A: She only comes in Soviet Grey currently but they can be made to order in any colour you like. The most efficient fuel for this carrier class is DFM Diesel
Q: How did you come into owning this ship? 29-Nov-14
A: It was made to order for the Russian navy, however due to the Ukraine crisis and UN sanction we cannot provide this ship to them. In an attempt to recoup some of the $1.7billion, the decision has been made to put it on eBay.
Q: Can I view this? 29-Nov-14
A: Can you view this? CAN YOU VIEW THIS? At 199 meters by 6.3 meters and a whopping 32 meters high. Weighing in it 16,500 tonnes not only will you be able to view this but your enemies won't miss it either, if they haven't been rained on by hellfire missiles and a tank battallion.
Q: Hello, We have been unable to find your other auctions with regard to the helicopters, do you have these available too? if not no worries we could settle for the Tanks (a battalions worth will do) The Uk is currently under occupation and we would like to do something about it. kind regards UKIP 29-Nov-14
A: Bonjour Nigel, Unfortunately the vessel only comes fully fueled, without ammunition, tanks or helicopters. We will provide plenty of white flags, as comes standard on all French ships. Regards François Hollande
Q: Good afternoon, I am interested in this vessel, my existing fleet is very old and poorly maintained. Could you deliver to the Port of Sevastopol if I pay a bit extra? Spasibo. 29-Nov-14
A: Bonjour, Unfortunately UN sanctions have my hands tied on the matter of delivery outside the NATO zone. Do you have a fleet near by, in the English Channel perhaps that could collect the vessel? François Hollande

I don't like Soviet Grey!  Mind you Sanj has a good stock of Sterling Grey so that might be an option?  >:D
