Collecting 2011 X5 today- my inspection checklist:

Post by Mefster » Sat Nov 29, 2014 10:06 am

En route at the moment to inspect and collect the 2011 X5 40d MSport I've put a deposit on.  6 hour round journey so hoping all will be ok.

Thanks for all the tips regarding what to look out for.  I've drawn up a list of things to check before I accept the car.  I've managed to pull up the build sheet. I need to contact BMW regarding the propshaft/security recalls. The car has 20" runflats and has not had the sports suspension deleted so I'm guessing the ride may be a little firm compared to the Range Rover!

Here's my check list. If there's anything I've omitted please let me know:

I like your name Mefster  ;)

It sounds like you are not buying the car from BMW, so would have gone with some  pre purchase inspection myself.

Your list looks good to me, don't forget to check the parking sensors/ camera work.

Good luck with your purchase. and make sure you check all the items and don't just get carried away once you lay eyes on your new motor .

Car is being bought from a Volvo Franchise who took it as a part exchange, so although not BMW dealer I'm hoping they're a little more respectable than an Arthur Daley outfit.

Fingers crossed...
