Gloss or Matt Black Kidney Grill
Gloss or Matt Black Kidney Grill
Hi all, looking to change the kidney grill on my x6. The colour of the vehicle is Sapphire Black and I am more weighted towards fitting the Gloss black grill. Any opinions welcomed...

Re: Gloss or Matt Black Kidney Grill
Hi Chodda. Personally I'd go for matte, but that's because it won't need cleaning so often and having gloss black wheels I know from experience that they don't stay that way for long! )
But gloss cool tho

Thanks IQ yes I can understand where you are coming from, but with the alloys I guess you have the added problem of brake dust
I saw a black gloss grill on an x6 on the weekend and it did suit it...
But thanks as always for your genuine opinion

Obviously, please post pics when you've fitted it.
Good point about the alloys- mine are particularly filthy at the moment!

Most definitely
Polishing the alloys once every 3 months is a good idea, the brake dust washes off easier

And use a wheel sealant! Cleaning is easier with 'Bilberry Juice'.....it smells nice too.

Re: Gloss or Matt Black Kidney Grill
How about going for a CF look as an alternate ?
Out of the two you mention I would go with the gloss, as they will look better when cleaned (I do have the gloss black wheels though )

Re: Gloss or Matt Black Kidney Grill
Thanks Mavster, yes I agree the gloss do stand out more when cleaned and the danger of Matt is it may just look like two gaping kidney holes lol.. Cheers buddy
