2011 X5 e70 hub bore size

Post by TinTin » Tue Nov 25, 2014 3:18 pm

I'm getting more and more confused about hub bore sizes on a 2011 X5 e70 3.0d msport so need some expert size.

What size is the hub bore and is it the same front and back?

Some places have told me its 74.1 all round, some say 74.1 front and 72.5 rear.

Please help...

Hi the front & rear hubs are both 74.1 for the E70
                                                    74.1 front 72.6 rear E70 X5M
                                                    74.1 front 72.6 rear E71 X6
                                                    74.1 front 72.6 rear E71 X6M
They have tried to totally confuse everybody with their staggered hubs on the E70 X5M , & X6 , X6M just to stop the wheels off these cars ending up on lower models . However the E70 wheels do fit the X6 with a spigot ring attached to reduce the bore size , the offsets must be looked at aswell as again BMW in their wisdom made sure that they were all different . So if you are looking for wheels not only check the hub size but the offset aswell as some of the larger wheels need to have the arch extensions fitted to be able to use them !
Lastly every genuine BMW wheel has the part number stamped  inside  each of the wheels aswell as BMW if they look less than perfect they are more than likely copies . Look out for cracks as these are not what you want for a 2 ton plus car .
Just ask if you need any more help !

And in case anyone wonders about the X5(M) it's because it has the same clever transmission as all models of the X6.

So now you know...... :P
