Breakdown Recovery

Post by bobgolden » Tue Nov 18, 2014 7:49 pm

Did any F15 owners get a BMW breakdown cover booklet ? I

know there is a breakdown contact number built into the iDrive system but what happens if you have a flat battery or are out of mobile service for the installed SIM card. I could really do with a 24x7 contact number rather than relying totally on the iDrive.

Is it not on the BMW website?

It's also embedded in 'contact us' within the BMW Remote app (for iOS at least)

Does this mean that nobody gets details of the recovery/breakdown service in the form of a traditional booklet to accompany the owners manual and entertainment supplement ?  Funnily enough, I received a plastic card the other day with contact details in the event of an accident - almost 4 months after I took delivery of the car.

Didn't get anything with any of our BMWs.

Lol. The number on the back of my tax disc holder is the supplying dealer and I rate them alongside the active content of AdBlue.

I'm a fairly low mileage driver having done only 18k miles in my Discovery in just under 4 years from new so my biggest risk is a flat battery hence the reason for the question. We also cross the Penines frequently and different phones drop out at different places so it is Sod's law that the built in SIM is out of signal just when you need it.
