One for you Richard,
I have the optional 5 year / 50,000 mile service inclusive pack on my X 5....
I'm only doing 5- 6000 milles a year and my 2011 X5 4D has now done 19,500 miles and just had an inspection service as previously mentioned last week F.O.C . The big filters service wont be required till 30,000 miles but i will never reach that before i sell the car , probably in Jan - Feb 2015 with 22,000 miles on the vehicle estimated.
My question is can i ask BMW to carry out the big service, under my service pack early ? It normally costs about £ 600 but would be free to me in any case , so i can sell the car with the B service completed to enhance value. ? I plan to put it in with the BMW main dealer January 2015 , get the book stamped and then sell immediately ? Can i do that or is the service at dealers discretion under the service pack option ?
Your advice please . :'(

Re: 5 yr Service Package Issue
I had a 'big' service a few weeks back after 4 years as the car said it needed it. I'm assuming that there much be a time as well as a distance element built in as I have yet to clear 20k in just over 4 years.
My experience is that some dealers are more flexible with these things, others go 'by the book' and it also depends upon what BMW GB allow them to do - given they are paying.

Re: 5 yr Service Package Issue
Your in demand again i see Richard. When i bought my X5, i paid for a service plan for 2 years and my car just had a big service of some kind, but sales man did tell me to make sure i booked it in for a service at least a month before it runs out as he said he didnt think the car will tell me it needs one as i only do about 6k max a year, so maybe an answer to your question ?

Re: 5 yr Service Package Issue
Could be very sound advice.........
The only message I got 'on board' was that I needed the two-year brake fluid change. It was only when the Dealer interrogated the key that they came back and said I needed a major service.

Can you carry the service plan over to the new owner, it would be a nice extra for new new owner too , and maybe help sell the car.

Re: 5 yr Service Package Issue
I have a similar issue with the wifes X5. It has a service pack which runs out in November 2015 however it is due an oil change in April 2016. So i will not be able to get it done because the service pack will of expired. The x5 is used a lot round town so will this lower the time taken it will need for an oil change ?
Thanks
Thanks

Yes the service pack transvers to new owner.
As such why bring the service forward when the service pack is a selling point anyway. As a side note, I think you will find the service pack is 60k or 5 years.
