What average mpg do you get from a diesel 3.0sd?

Hi, a new member to the forum and enjoying reading everyone's posts.
Have just bought an X5 diesel 3.0sd and am getting around 26mpg. Just wondering if that's good or bad? Thanks, Amy.

I average 26mpg with the 235bhp 3.0d (and heavy foot) so guess you are doing about right (2008 E70)

My remapped 3.0sd has been pegged @ 25.4mpg for about a month now.. and that includes alot of pottering around towns/country lanes, and a few long'ish runs (Reading to Liverpool).

I've only ever measured with the onboard computer, but for what its worth mine averages 33-34 mpg with mostly motorway driving.

Lots of school runs, some motorway, been seeing 22-26mpg.

I've had mine for just under 2 years. Best I've had on a tank with predominantly motorway type driving was high 30s. Around town & short hops low 30s.
Just remember DPFs don't like short hops you'll need a to stretch it's legs at least once a fortnight, which will of course ruin your milage[emoji14] but this will reinforce the very reason you bought this type of machine.

Our 4.0d averages about 27 on the computer. A long Cornwall holiday this yr and a no hurry 400 mile each way trip managed a lofty 31mpg. However I never was interested in mpg when I bought it.

That's nearly comparable with the 31.7mpg on my old 4.4 petrol V8 which took lots of effort to achieve and no I never managed that again
