That's why I went for the "approved" 99 style 18 inch alloys for my 4.8iS. It took a while to find them on ebay and eventually found them on the German ebay (a wheel specialist in Munich).
Messing with different rims can cause other problems with differences in offset (a term I'd never heard of before!).

we had literally no snow down here!! x coped ok on icy roads however did have a few hairy moments on compacted snow/ice where i didnt think i was going to stop after skidding!! think snow socks could be an investment for me however had a look at pennys site and my tyre size not there. any other dealers sell them you guys know of??

here is the measley snow we had (at its best)
