Hi all
I have recent taken delivery of a 2011 E70 X5 4.0D M Sport.
According to the handbook there should be an LED on the switch which is either Red or Green indicating whether the brake is applied or not.
Mine does not show any LED indication, only in the dash display.
Can anyone with the same year X5 post if they have this LED. The sales guy said that this X5 doesn't have the LED on the switch, but am not convinced.
Thanks in advance .

Re: PARKING BRAKE LED LIGHT
I've got a 2012 X6 M50d and family had a 'normal' 2009 X6 before that, and neither of them had any LED in the switch itself. I only get the (P) symbol on my dash.
Congratulations on your new car!

Re: PARKING BRAKE LED LIGHT
There is a green LED on the switch for the 'Auto handbrake' mode, green when activated. No led for the actual parking brake switch as such.
Re: PARKING BRAKE LED LIGHT
Green 'on' LED down by the parking brake to show the auto brake is 'armed' but it's only an on/off telltale.

Thanks for your replies
Unfortunately the car is back with the stealer at present for several issues to be resolved. But at least I have the answer as my Auto Hold has the LED's but the electronic brake only displays the (P) in the dashboard as sunnydude commented. These forums are certainly often more helpful than the sales guys ::)
