Re: House prices across UK
Dads investment property I sold for him - aboslute shit hole since it was rental 2 and 1/2 semi in Harrow NW london sold for.. £550k
I just bought a 3 bed terrached house in W London for £430k.
In fairness prices are now stabilising. There was excitement earlier this yr with the govenrnment help to buy scheme part 2 (5% deposits) but the interest rates on these were crazy high.
Dust has settled and now lenders / sellers / buyers waiting on Bank of England rates.
We will be having analysts come in January to go through the market for the next 12 months and in fairness these guys are normally spot on.
PS. Shittest house in the best location over best house in shittest location every time!

Re: House prices across UK
As always, location along with supply and demand will force prices up or down. I'm currently renting in Aberdeen but intend to purchase early next year. Prices are wild and very much a sellers market at this time.
I will probably buy a three to four bedroom place close to the airport and rent out the spare rooms. Might as well let someone else pay the mortage.
My biggest concern is that when the oil starts to dry up, the market will plummet overnight.
Now Northen Ireland is a different story, my home is just over 4000 sq. ft with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, self contained two bedroom granny pad and a couple of acres, valued at £750k but almost impossible to sell, as the market is still very depressed here and houses over £250k are not really in demand. Just as well I'm not looking at selling.

School catchments have a lot to do with it in our case. Certain schools locally are outstanding, which adds a premium.

How do they cope with the 'blonde' quota? :'(

You're so right. We need words of more than two syllables with no references to shoes or handbags.....and no, syllables are not part of a drum kit......

What does your self-confessed blonde wife have to say about these blondist views? I thought syllables were derivatives of syllabub; the popluar traditional English dessert?
