Placed a Deposit on a X5 40d M Sport

Post by ex540d » Mon Oct 27, 2014 6:41 pm

Good Evening all  :)

After owning 2 new Audis over the past couple of years i have had nothing but trouble with them and i have swapped them both for Bmw's this year.
In February this year i picked up a 2013 ex bmw demo Alpine White F10 535D M Sport from Preston Bmw for myself.

Back at Preston Bmw yesterday to have another look at a Bmw X5 40D M Sport for the wife which we have had our eye on for a while.
Anyway, after a bit of negotiating we came to a fair deal. I went for a drive in it and put a deposit on it.

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

The car has covered 35,500 miles
It is Metallic Deep Sea Blue with Oyster Nevada Leather
Specification includes:
. 4 Zone Climate Control
. Professional Navigation
. Dark Bamboo Wood Trim
. Matt Aluminium Roof Rails
. Bmw Business Loudspeaker System
. Adaptive Headlights
. Comfort Seats & Lumbar Support
. Heated Seats
. Folding Mirrors
. Bmw Assist
. 20" M Double-spoke style 333M alloy wheels
. Enhanced Telephone

I don't know if the previous owner was a member on here but the car has been looked after like a baby. The car is in unmarked condition there is not a mark on it. Including corrosion free wheels and gravel rash free wheel arches. The seats look like they have never even been sat on. It is in practically brand new condtion.
I am really pleased with it and happy that my wife has found one she really likes  :)

Before i went to see this one we went to have a look at a different one at private garage with the same mileage on and it was no where near as good as this one. It was covered in stone chips and scratches and a set of practically bald tyres ! To be fair i would rather pay more money and buy one from a Bmw dealership in perfect condition and get the warranty etc.. than pay less and get one which needs money spending on it from a private dealer.

Look forward to hearing from people. Hope this forum is as good as the Audi Sport Forum  :P
Collection will be some time this week  :)

Looks identical to mine !!!!!

No experience with the dtuk tuning box though it's getting great reviews on the VW Golf R forum I'm on.

Def get it mapped , you'll be stunned how quick it'll hit 80mph, I even stayed with a Mercedes SL55amg in mine and he only crept away over 80 :o
2014 BMW X6M (the toy)
2004 Porsche 911 (996) turbo (the garage queen)
2015 VW Touran (the daily)

you are welcome but I've just had a recall on it from Lotus

Apparently some oil could leak out and catch fire and I might die
If that doesn't happen, oil my leak on tyres, I crash, I might die

Failing that, while I drive it to dealer my brakes may fail /(because they need changing) so I might die

I kid you not with the first two, they mention fatality in the letter

Yes i thought you may recognise my Username. I posted on here a while back when i was looking to change my Audi.
I was looking for an X5 40D but i bought a F10 535d instead. Now its the wife who wants to change her Audi for a X5

Photographs of 535d here: http://tinypic.com/a/3a0wy/3

The photographs of it are pretty poor to be honest. I will have to detail it again soon for winter and upload some better photographs.
It has the M Performance Side stripes and i swapped the grille over for a genuine Bmw black one and i have put the M stripe stickers on the grille and on the front of the car and a lot of people comment on how much more effective it looks.

What tyre pressure would you recommend me to put into the X5 for a low load ? I do not want them wearing out on the edges or the centre either. I would like them to wear even across the tyre.

Thanks

Welcome to the 4 D X5 Club, its so much quicker than the 3D, just  watch the  Range Rover Sport guys faces when you  sling shot past them !!  Mines done 19.000 miles but the 20 " alloys are not in as  good a condition as that , guess im going to have to shell out for a diamond  cut  refurb on both front wheels ! Why do they deteriorate so quick ?  Enjoy you 4 D  there  great to drive. !
