I bought a dummy Cassette device from Maplins for £10 with a wire fitting to connect to my Galaxy fone...

Excellent to have another music source.

I believe they are Alpine CDC's, and it's cheaper to buy as an Alpine part than the BMW re-badged.

The other thing you could try is a Bluetooth FM Tranmitter

Dummy Cassette...

Hi Chelsea,

YES, they are OK, but you have to very slightly adjust the location of the head in the cassette some times.

When you have normal CV or Radio playing, the volumes will be approximately the same, you may need to "tweek" the head in the cassette to adjust the position so as to match the volumes.

I have about 3,000 songs on my Galaxy fone, so it was better for me to out the cassette thingy in.

You should be able to lay the wire behind the tilt-face, so that is does not rip the guts out of the cassette when it closes, and the facia display lays shut.

I had the wire poking out of the bottom right of the facia & popped it over the steering column when not using, so it was hidden...

cheers chaps,

the FM modulator seems very easy and I guess with a bit of tweeking it could be cut down in size(cut the cig plug off) and plumbed directly into the loom to power on and off with the ignition, seems I may have a project on my hands ;)
