Sometimes even that isn't enough..... important that the water isn't boiling, of course - I've heard of shattered windows and damaged paintwork with such an extreme temperature variation. If the warm water doesn't do the trick, lock deicer will, if you manage to get it into the mechanism.

Found a similar problem to this today, not the doors on the car but the garage door, I've just had to defrost it to stop it making the god awful cracking sound coming from the ice between the sections when it opens!

i have actually riped off the bottom door seal passenger side today :headbang:

if it ever warms up will try a few and see if i can overcome this very anoying problem
ps car is fantastic on the road tho so glad to get out my van into the x feel so much safer so once im in bring on the ice
