Best clamshell mount for smartphone?
Can anybody recommend a solid clamshell windscreen phone holder that works well in our cars? (and is sold by Amazon)
I tried "The Crab" which sells at a premium price and seems quite solid, but its length is a tad too short for an X5 windshield. And my phone is too slim to be held tight in it. We have a few clamshells in other cars but all seem to be optimised for smaller cars/windscreens.
Thanks!

Not for windscreen but on air vent
Kenu airframe is worth a go
I used it for 6 months on previous car and is good
Just not moved it in other car since selling
But for size, it works well and can rotate screen too

I have always used this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nokia-Mount-HH- ... B000HHDG1Q
the arm is longer than most so the phone is reachable and it fits any phone I have had from a PDA to a HTC One

Just a quick shout to say thanks for the Kenu suggestion. I bought it in the US for just over half of the price in France. It works great! If you have a big phone (5" or more) be sure to get the "Kenu Airframe+ Car Mount for Phablets" so your bigger phone will fit. I currently have a OnePlus One phone and it fits fine in the + model.
