Question about 19" alloy wheels?

Post by jagr » Sun Oct 12, 2014 9:28 pm

I have recently fitted a set of 19" M Sport alloys that are staggered.

Fronts are 235/45/19 and rears 255/40/19

My question (could be silly) is could I replace the rears with another pair of fronts meaning 235/45/19 all round?

Cheers

Definitely not silly!  Given that you normally drive in rear wheel drive bias it might not be the best idea, however if you have a look at the tyre type/size/pressures plate on the driver's side B-pillar that will tell you the approved sizes for the car.

If the size is there on both axles then you'll be fine, but maybe not in combo with those rims in case the rear is a little too wide.  Might not be an issue, but worth checking.

As standard mine had 235/55/17 all round

If you had the standard 18" sport alloys they were 235/50/18 all round

18" M-Sports are staggered 235/50/18 and 255/45/18

19" M-Sports have 235/45/19 and 255/40 19
