Last day of x5 tomorrow

Post by tiger78 » Sat Oct 11, 2014 8:19 pm

Last day for the x5 tomorrow - being traded in for an rs4.  Car has been fun - but 5 warranty issues in under 2 years - coupled with a lousy Bmw dealer and a cracking offer for a new rs4 means it's off.  I was hoping Bmw wanted to keep my business - but taking 2 weeks to price up 2 new cars for me is not good- this was after various promises of you will have the quote today....
Will see what audi dealers are like - local dealer in Aberdeen has already lost my buisnees due to uncompetitive pricing and attitude of we don't need to move our prices as the cars sell themselves.

I already have my winters for sale - there will be roof bars coming up soon also.

Thanks for all the past assistance .

Tiger, I assume you've been going to John Clark in Aberdeen? Got my F15 from them, no issues thus far but agree they're not the best. I know a guy from Aberdeen who got his M6 from John Clark in Dundee last year, he says they are much, much better than the Aberdeen mob.

I've also had the "We've more buyers than cars" chat from RR, Audi, and VW in Aberdeen, wasn't impressed.

Anyway, good luck with the RS4. Couple of colleagues have the new RS6, would love one but the missus only wants a "high up car"...!

Are you a North Sea "Tiger"?

Hi dr c,
Yes it was aberdeen - they were really good at the start then it all went wrong!!
Yes my missus liked the X5 and didn't want me to get rid of it - but I needed a new toy!!

Used to be a north sea tiger - before working in Africa then starting a mon-fri office job when the kids came along.  You offshore?

Yeah, used to do the offshore/rotating (North Sea, Oman, Ghana) thing then similar to yourself got the desk job when kids came along. Live in Edinburgh but work in Aberdeen for an Operator....just arrived in the office actually (0400 start on Mondays, home on Thursdays and work from home on Fridays).

Good luck with the RS4, hope you like it...awesome car.

All the best.

Hi,

spec is:-
ibis white
black piped leather
black styling pack
heated front seats
Piano Inlays
Bang & Olufsen
Privacy Glass
Sports pack
Tech pack advanced

as part of the sports pack I went for the 20" rotors - wasn't too sure on them but really pleased seeing them

whats the spec of yours? I see you have V spoke alloys which was what I wanted - but would have to have factory build - 1 week to wait for the car was long enough!!

I'm in the exact same position.  X5 has just hit 3 years old & Mrs doesn't want me to get rid of it.  I'm contemplating the RS4 but already have a 2013  A4 Black Edition Avant TDI, which is great, but flat.  Fancy something really meat head & petrol again!

Takes a bit of getting used to being back in a petrol - and I'm panicking incase I accidentally put diesel in it by mistake.

I thought that the petrol filler points prevented a diesel nozzle being inserted as it's wider?
