Roughly 60:40 rear:front, but the xDrive system can shift that ratio to all rear or all front or anywhere in between depending upon what it detects in terms of wheel spin etc.

Pre-Xdrive cars in the E53 (pre Facelifted) are fixed 60:40.

Thanks

Which tyres on say normal use would wear out quicker

Fronts because of engine weight

Or rear because more drive?

Over 104500miles now, and on 4 sets the rears wear fastest.  Pressures are crucial - a couple of pounds more in the front helps stop excessive wear on the outer edges.  Never over-inflate the rears when the car is used unloaded to prevent the centre wearing quickly.  But, conversely, if the back of the car is loaded, e.g. with a caravan, and the rears aren't pumped up according to the recommendations (see plate on front driver's door pillar) the inside edge of the tyres will wear quickly if the car is used on twisty roads such as in Scotland!

I'm only going from the official documents......it might be 99.5% in reality but no figure is quoted, only that the torque can be shifted 'all front or all rear depending upon the driving conditions'.

It can be max 50% to the front... Ok, lets make it very clear 0%~50% front 0%~100% rear.. Fixed 0%-100% parking,  0%-100% over 110mph ;)
