Winter wheels & tyres!

Post by cannonfodder » Sat Oct 04, 2014 11:03 am

I'm on the hunt for a set of winter wheels, just wondering if buying 18's is the norm. Currently running on 20's on my 3.0 SD. Where are the best deals sought!

I've got a set of 19" wheels for mine, fitted with Vredestein non RFT 255 x50 107s on the front and 285 x 45 111s on the rear (7 seater, also used for towing). In the boot are a couple of Holt's Tyreweld cans which National Tyres say can be washed out with water and a puncture repaired (if possible) - never needed them, touch wood.  I had the Vreds fitted in Oct 2013 and  last winter there was no snow!  Softer, more compliant ride, than the Conti runflats (also on 19" wheels) that were on in summer 2013 and again this year. According to the computer, the Vreds are more economical by about 1-2 mpg!  Time to think about changing back now the temperature has dropped like a stone today!

Hi Ive been looking around for winter wheel set for my 2010 3.0sd with 20 inch set up at present. Ive found it quite difficult getting any information but came across the site link below who claim to guarantee to refund if they don't fit for any reason.

I have a set of winter wheels and tyres for an E70 X5 for sale.

Been used for just 2 winters approx 5,000 miles.

18" TSW Rivage wheels fitted with BMW * Rated Continental 255/35x18 Winter Contact Runflat tyres. All the tyres have 6mm tread minimum (8mm new). Wheels have no kerb marks and are in excellent condition.

These belonged to a customer of mine (who now has an M5) and he wants just £900 for them. They cost him £1,950 in December 2012.

If anyone is interested and you want pictures please PM your email address and I will send.
