Rear view mirror glue?

Post by Spartanx5 » Wed Oct 08, 2014 8:39 pm

Evening all, in a rage I managed to knock my rear view mirror clean off the window, it looks like it was held on by a resin. Does anyone know where I can get the actual stuff from? Everything looks to be ok, I just need to twist it out the mount now and remove the old glue remains from both sides ( glass and mirror holder ).  :(

I called into my local windscreen fitters and bought some from them.

My Wrangler stood in the sun for too long and the mirror ended up on the floor after the glue had melted. Probably age related as well as it's a 1997 vehicle.

Popped into my local auto windscreen place and asked to buy some glue. They whipped it into the workshop and stuck it back on for me. 20 minutes later I was on my way with no charge. 3 months later and it's still there so a good result all round.

Malc1950 stuck his rain sensor back on with clear fish tank sealant and it worked a treat.  :D

I have been into autoglass and once I remove the old glue from the metal stud that sits on the screen they will glue it back on for me, then once it's gone off I can just twist it back on, so not too bad in the end.
