Central Heating ON ?

Post by AW8 » Sun Oct 05, 2014 7:55 pm

3 degrees centigrade outside this morning and ice found on a colleagues car. House temp was 16 centigrade this evening and bad weather coming in so I have caved in already.

I suspect I may be one of the first to switch on the heating. I have spoken to some who wait until November and one guy I know was waiting until December !

Am I alone switching on this early ?

Ours went on last night too.  Mind you we have an 18 month old tearaway to keep warm.....and yes he really is 18 months old!

I'm on this evening. Caved, and was VERY nice too! house came up to 21 degrees and all felt toasty.  Im currently using a Heatmiser PRT thermostat which is wireless and touch screen, however I am thinking of something else which integrates with iphone etc.  Anyone using anything fancy?

You could try the 'Nest' system.  I've got wireless stat controls but only simple ones and we run at 19C.  Used to be 20C but the one degree drop saved about £150 a year on gas - which was more than I thought it would and we don't really notice the drop.

Wedding events all weekend but woke up this morning to 16 inside this old place. Heating is on - even though the boiler doesn't like it!

:))

Old boiler and due to be replaced in days by the new megaflow unit and vaillant boiler.

Although the new windows have left the house somewhat open to the elements around the surrounds.

Hope it stays warmer for a bit longer...

You appear to suggest a member of opposite sex, potentially behaving irrationally &/or illogically..........Surely an one off occurrence ;)
