Numerous Faults just bonged up, dsc....

Post by kjb1 » Fri Oct 03, 2014 4:49 pm

DSC inactive
4x4 system inactive
Park brake inactive
Asc inactive

To name but a few from memory, these all just lit the dash up after pulling out of a junction car just started from cold onto a right hand turn.  Drove 50 yards and lots cleared on their own except tyre pressure monitoring system one.  Pulled into tesco garage, got all pressures perfect, switched off, locked car, then switched back on, car prompted me for a tyre pressure system activation, did that.  No fault codes all day since.

Im worried now, as I know these things no doubt lead to something sooner or later!

Any ideas guys? car drives fine.

Thanks

Sounds like the wheel sensor was bombarded with conflicting info, did you boot it out of the junction ?
All these faults apart from the handbrake are generated via the wheel sensors I think. I e read that even mismatched tyres can put on all those lights under heavy acceleration .
The fact they cleared on there own is a good sign

Those faults generally pop up 1st when the battery charge is down.

funnily enough i ran the battery down the other day whilst hoovering and it wouldn't start afterwards! put charger on it for 15 mins to get it charging!! and been ok since or so I thought.  Plus I did come out of a tight junction with full lock to right on!!

Battery really needs 12 hours of steady charge to bring it fully back.  Even with the car running the electrics use a large chunk of the alternator output.
