bmw scanner v 1.4.0

Post by sturach » Thu Dec 16, 2010 10:12 pm

Hi all

new scanner arrived today and no instrucions HELP!

I have windows 7 OS

So do i plug the scanner into the car and does it do the rest?

I haven't touched the car yet

I've loaded the little disc that came with it but it says device drivers are not installed

the version on the disc is: P.A soft v1.4.0 2007 Date modified 22/05/2009 and the size of the file is 3.9MB

Thanks in advance

yes, have disc in your cd drive on laptop.
insert the black box into car socket, connect lead to computer, turn ignition on .
then windows should say new device detected... and let it look on the cd to load the driver.

Not as easy as that I'm afraid. You will need to get the drivers off the disc, not as easy as this sounds either!! What you have to do is copy the drivers and save them in a new folder on your desktop. When you open the dashboard it will say "no drivers installed" It will give you an option to browse. Just pick your new folder you have just created and Bobs your uncle

Hope this helps?

Yes this sounds right. Plug it into your car, it will ask you to put ignition on and confirm. Once you do this near the bottom on the right hand side is a scan button. Press this and it will scan all your car files.

Hi Graham

I think the scanner is faulty from it saying hardware error

do you think it's just a driver problem
