Mine only had around 13,000 miles when I took it out, that was back in April so wouldn't think the price is much different. There are three levels of cover from memory and different excess levels.

thanks for quick reply. So is the comprehensive the best cover ?? just thinking for the future as I have the bmw approved warranty which is really good but when asked if I could pay for an extra year was told no. When asked how much, the sales guy said bmw get in touch when its due with a price and you pay them direct.! So they couldn't tell me how much they are and can not seem to find on any of there web pages prices ??

Re: BMW Insured Warranty
Hi mate, this is the web page;
https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk
The dealer is right you can't extend the AUC warranty beyond the year, this is the BMW approved scheme run by Mondial.
If you look at the website it shows the options available and explains the cover, the Comprehensive cover is identical to the AUC warranty from what I could make out.
I did look at the other car warranty companies who were loads cheaper in some cases but there are plenty of horror stories as they won't pay out, on the other hand the Mondial/BMW one has excellent feedback on many BMW forums.

Re: BMW Insured Warranty
The Dealer is wrong, you can extend the ACU warranty to two years. I bought a 2010 E70 40d a couple of months ago and managed to talk the dealer into including 2 years ACU warranty, so I know it can be done.
Re: BMW Insured Warranty
I should have pressed for a two year AUC warranty with mine. I was quoted £1100 for a replacement £0 excess warranty from Mondial/BMW after I had the X5 for a year. It was too much money so it made sense to swap cars.

Re: BMW Insured Warranty
Collecting a 2011 X5 4.0D M Sport with 28K next week. Comes with usual BMW 12 month used car warranty but have also taken out Dealers "Extended Warranty" for further 24 months (3 yrs total no mileage limitations) costing £1430, no excess and covers "all Mechanical and Electrical Components, Satnav Systems, Cat Converter up to 70000 mls, Climate control, Roadside Assistance and is transferable".
Thought a sensible option given the cost of BMW repairs. Car already has a Service Pack to June 2016 so pretty well covered methinks .

That sounds spot on. Is the extended 24 month warranty BMW backed or is it a dealer backed one (Stratstones?)
