Pull out boot....

Post by peter316 » Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:28 pm

Just purchased my x5 and it has a pull out boot, is there any way of getting rid of the pull out boot floor and fitting the normal one in it? Not too keen on the pull out one.

Cheers

Yes - bit of a faff but easily possible.

May swap you (if interested) but distance may hinder that...

Sanj, they sound great but the reality is woeful. As you pull them out to unload your shopping, whatever is at the back slips of and then you can't reach it because you have pulled the floor out and can't push it back because your shopping has fallen down the back. The only upside is they allow the fitting of a larger lpg tank.

Good point that. Plus bet the liner I have won't fit the new load floor.

Also mine seems to get stuck on one side when you slide it back in and the only way to get it to go all the way back is to lift it, which seems pointless! lol

So it can be removed and I can replace it with a normal floor then?

Cheers

Yes.  It only bolts in.

It sits higher than a normal floor so you can easily get a full size spare wheel in the wheel well....

How about modifying the sliding floor by fitting a guard so the items don't fall down just a thought.

Interesting. But what about when you fold the seats down to get that fridge in the back ?
