Local BMWdealer - parts man joker , re door handle mechanism

Post by tubs » Tue Dec 14, 2010 5:22 pm

Went in today to get a new door handle mechanism, (result of frozen door handle) mentiones to him about the problem and says hes never heard of this issue before, so checks the computer to look back at when the last one was issued and said only 12 so far this year so dont see where the problem is because hundreds of X5's pass through the doors, I live in Dundee not that big City and surrounding area,( so unlikey to be hundreds) he than asks if my X has FBMWSh and tell him it has and then questioned it,(it has full SYTNER SH) i asked why he says becuase during service intervals thing like mechanisms etc are lubed with WURTH 2000 so this problem shouldn't occur, why do these people from Stealers continually Bullshit !!!

Cheers

Is he bullshitter, miss informed or a just an idealist, not a realist?

My understanding is that the service department will do the absolute minimum possible to satisfy the somewhat interpretable schedule.

Bless them all.

No way am I pouring water ' all over it', sounds a painful thing to do, and can think of less painful alternatives !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

such as? id rather pour boiling water over the handles which will take a couple of minutes than have to spend £70 odd quid and 2hrs labour to fix it ! ;)
